  • Every Child Deserves a Chance to Dance

At the Iowa Dance Collective Foundation, we believe in more than just perfect pirouettes and graceful leaps — we believe in what dance gives to a child.

For so many young dancers in our community, the chance to step into a studio and be seen, supported, and celebrated is life-changing. But for families facing financial hardship, that opportunity can feel out of reach.

That’s why we created the Iowa Dance Collective Foundation — a nonprofit dedicated to making dance education accessible, regardless of background or income. Through scholarships, pre-professional training, and soon, free community classes for our youngest movers, we’re working to build a world where every child who wants to dance can.

But we can’t do it alone.

Your donation is more than a dollar amount — it’s a pair of ballet shoes for a child attending their first class. It’s the quiet pride and joy of a teen who never thought they’d take the stage. It’s one more young artist who learns to trust their body, their story, and their voice.

Give today — because education and self discovery should be a right, not a privilege.

  • The Rising Artist Scholarship at Iowa Dance Collective, sponsored by Everybody's Whole Foods, is for the passionate and dedicated young dancer who shows promise, maturity, and authenticity. The program is an opportunity for students and families to receive financial support for an education in dance. Full and partial scholarships will be awarded to those who meet requirements.

  • Malone Dance Theater is the pre-professional training company of Iowa Dance Collective, designed for dedicated and advanced-level dancers seeking rigorous technical training, artistic development, and professional performance experience. Composed of 13 dancers from across the state of Iowa, the company offers weekly rehearsals, repertory creation, and opportunities to perform in mainstage productions throughout the year.

Through mentorship, company classes, and choreography rooted in modern and contemporary techniques, Malone Dance Theater prepares dancers for collegiate and professional careers in the arts while fostering creativity, collaboration, and confidence.

This program is completely free to participating dancers and their families, made possible through the generous support of the Iowa Dance Collective Foundation.

  • As part of our ongoing mission to make arts education accessible for all, the Iowa Dance Collective Foundation is excited to introduce Community Time — a developing series of free classes, starting Fall 2025, designed for preschool and kindergarten aged children and families in our area. These classes will focus on movement, creativity, and connection, offering a welcoming space for exploration and play. Whether it's your child's first time in a studio or just a new way to engage, Community Time is about building joy through shared experience. Stay tuned for updates as we finalize offerings and schedules!

  • We are thrilled to announce that the Iowa Dance Collective Foundation has been awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to host the Jon Lehrer Dance Company for a weeklong residency in Fairfield! This exciting initiative will bring the entire NYC-based company to our community, where they will lead masterclasses throughout the week and culminate their visit with a collaborative performance alongside our Malone Dance Theater students.

This residency not only offers our students the chance to learn from world-class artists but also embodies our mission to unite, inspire, and transform through dance.

Stay tuned for more details on class schedules and performance dates. We can't wait to share this extraordinary experience with you!

The Iowa Dance Collective Foundation exists to ensure that every child, regardless of circumstance, has access to grow through movement, creativity, and the transformative power of the arts.
