We strive to make a positive impact in our students’ lives and the community, as a whole. With a team of dedicated movement artists leading the way, we are offering an experience unlike any other.

Owner/Artistic Director, Tyler Malone, opened Iowa Dance Collective in December of 2021 with the goal of offering his years of professional experience with the community.
Tyler has a degree in dance performance from Point Park University, one of the top dance schools in the world. He has danced for the Jon Lehrer Dance Company touring internationally for many years. During his travels, Tyler had the opportunity to teach globally and be able to both educate and learn different cultures through dance. Tyler has worked with numerous production companies, most notably RWS Entertainment (a global leader in the entertainment industry), as both a dancer, teacher, as well as roles on the production side of show business. Tyler had the opportunity to dance with multiple musical artists including Kool and the Gang and the 10,000 Maniacs.
Through all of this experience and more, Tyler and Iowa Dance Collective are here to share our passion and knowledge with the young artists of our community.

At Iowa Dance Collective and the Iowa Dance Collective Foundation 501(c)(3), we believe that dance has the power to unite, inspire, and transform. We are committed to fostering an environment that celebrates diversity, promotes equity, and ensures inclusion for all—regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion, ability, or age.
Our mission is to create a space where every individual feels seen, heard, and valued. We strive to make dance education accessible by offering scholarships, inclusive programming, and a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the richness of our community.
We recognize that true inclusivity requires ongoing learning, active listening, and a willingness to grow. We are dedicated to challenging biases, addressing barriers, and ensuring that all voices have a place in our studios, on our stages, and in our leadership.
By embracing the unique perspectives and experiences of each person, we strengthen our art form and our community. Together, we dance forward—united in our passion and our purpose.
